Experience
I have 25 years of experience in identifying strategic new technologies for new products and new
markets. These technologies covered many material sciences such as rheology, chemistry,
biology, biochemistry, coatings, inks, pigments, ceramics, and photonics. In addition to the
material science I am very familiar with the toxicity profile of the materials. I have many years
of experience in R&D budgeting and growth planning as well as Marketing experience in new
product environment.

My business coaching experience includes the identification and mentoring of promising R&D
and Engineering young engineers and scientists. I can take new practitioners and help them
mature faster and put them on the path to management or scientific excellence. I have helped
many organizations to adopt and internalize innovation. This includes the adoption and
celebration of both internal and external innovation.

One of my skills is the ability to quickly identify new and emerging technologies that can solve
consumer issues. This has lead to the creation of new products in excess of one billion dollars. I
also have considerable experience in intellectual property creation and management. This
includes trade secret and patent strategy. I also have extensive experience in working with the
United States Patent and Trademark Office in filing patents. I have successfully developed
programs that allow companies to capture and eventually recoup to 80% of their R&D and
engineering intellectual property investments.

Industry:
I have considerable experience in the consumer product market. Focusing on consumerism and
the consumers unstated needs has lead to the successful creation and launch of many paradigm
shifting products. Within that I have experience in product development, product management,
packaging, packaging design, new packaging materials, labeling, and delivery systems. I also
have experience in the coatings, inks, plastics, chemicals, printing, and specialty chemicals
market.

Comments:
During the last 4 years I have been working heavily in helping companies reach outside their
boundaries to find innovation critical to their growth. As an example one client was trapped in an
industry that had suffered a downward value migration. Their industry was headed downward
and all manufacturing was moving to China. I identified new technologies that when combined
allowed them to achieve a 15% sales lift and allowed them to keep their manufacturing base in
the US.
